“A decade on, the club has kicked on to another level. Now for the next step.”
Having been involved with Staveley MW for well over a decade, the club is totally unrecognisable from the day I first walked through the doors.
Back in 2015, the football club was already head and shoulders above most clubs at the same level of the pyramid. The high standard of matchday experience on and off the pitch has always been our mantra, offering real value for money for the whole local community.
A decade on, that experience has kicked on to another level thanks to huge investment in the facilities here at Inkersall Road. I’ve seen first-hand the remarkable effort Terry Damms, our Chairman, put into raising funds for the redevelopment, even more impressive given it was during the pandemic. That investment has been a massive benefit to the community, giving our junior section right through to the senior men’s and ladies’ teams a first-class facility to train and play on.
After re-joining the club on the managerial side to support Pat, it feels like the perfect fit. We both share a winning mentality and the same dedication to improving players technically, physically, and mentally. Bringing 25 years of non-league managerial experience, I’m fully committed to supporting Pat, Terry and everyone at the football club.
This season on the pitch has been a mix of emotions, culminating in the 1st team securing a play-off spot but narrowly missing out. So 2026/2027 is shaping up to be another exciting season. With the continued development of existing players, plus high-quality external recruitment, hopefully we can take that final step and earn promotion back to Step 5 of the football pyramid.
