“One Year On.“
When we launched the Women’s Section just over a year ago, we knew we wanted to build something special. But what this entire group has achieved in our debut season has been nothing short of fantastic.
To win the league and secure promotion to Tier 6 at the very first attempt, alongside reaching the League Cup Final and a County Cup Semi-Final, is an outstanding achievement. We didn’t just participate; we set our standard.
As a manager, I couldn’t be prouder of what the players, staff, and the club as a whole have achieved together this year.
From day one, our ethos has been built on unity. The Women’s Section and the wider club operate as one. Our incredible Women’s Reserve side enjoyed a hugely successful campaign, while our U18s have shown that the future of SMWLFC is incredibly bright.
We are not a collection of individual teams; we are one collective group. The integration across all squads, from youth through to the senior side, is exactly what I believe creates a successful and sustainable model.
Next season, we step up into the Regional Women’s Football League. The challenges will be greater, but our ambitions and standards remain the same. We will continue to strive to be the best club we can be, both on and off the pitch, providing an environment where players can develop and ultimately succeed.
The management team, coaches, players and staff will continue to drive this Women’s Section forward and create an environment where footballers can thrive.
We look forward to what will hopefully be another successful season and we embrace the challenge that promotion brings.
Our Home games are held at SMWFC on Sundays as 2pm.
It would be great to see as many people from the local communities of Staveley, Chesterfield and the surrounding areas come and support the club.
